A Nice Saturday morning...
Saturday, October 04, 2008
It's 11am in the morning on a nice nice and I mean SUPER NICE Sat morning... Jason's at the Chiropractor having his neck crank and his back bend following by a nice hard massage from the masseur and I'm here at home enjoying my cuppa morning paosheng drink...
Yesterday was one of the best night since SUMMER had arrived and past, we did not turn on the aircon the entire night! With just one fan, it was nice and cool enough for us to sleep through. Am so happy which means we can start to save at least a hundred bucks each month for our electricity bills! It has hit an all time $199 to $204 for about 3 months. I guess the location of our new home at Renaissance Villa is not too great since our home is being surrounded by black tar roads and that seems to be the reason why our house has been trapping a lot of heat! Remember when we were back from Singapore the last round, we had to on the air con the entire day just to cool it down! And while I was walking Mr Frosty at 10am in the morning where you are supposed to see and feel the heat from the sun, but no! It is nice and cool and cloudy! I am loving it, I hope its gonna be the same weather from now on.
I am currently reading this new book called "YOU ARE HERE" by Thomas M. Kostigen and its really new, only published this year, which exposes the vital link between what we do and what that does to our planet! A green book and I am trying to get more insights of what and how we are destroying our beautiful mother earth. These past few months, pardon us but we definitely have not contributed to saving mother earth and the amount of electricity we have been consuming have contributed very much to the effect of global warming... How guilty are we! I mean I am not an extremist when it comes to being an environmentalist but I do believe everyone should care enough so as to enjoy the world's natural resources, don't we?
Enough about such a serious topic on a nice Saturday morning, not to dampen a nice weekend but just something to think about... How about some baking goods that I've made for Sarah's English Tea Party!
My Peach Sour Cream Pie, here's the crust...
And top with Streussel before it goes into the oven for baking...
Here it is... The entire house smells so good!
Honey Glazed Lemon Muffins batter
Hot out from the oven and cooling on the racks!
With the honey glaze...
Into my trusty Lock and Lock container! I'm loving my Lock and Lock! I'm sure gonna get more when I am back in Singapore, they are so useful and air tight!
Here are more foodie pics where the other wives made at the party! I didn't manage to capture any group or shots of us cause we were so busy oggling at the nice setting and the food! Haha... The entire setting... SO English and nice... I love the roses!
Some sandwiches... Yummy mint cucumber sandwiches and chicken pecan ones as well.
How about Lemon Bars very lemony!
Chocolate brownies!
Scones from Sarah!
The Tea set!
I'm sure gonna organise one the next time I'm back in Singapore! I know how I used to love going to Goodwood Park Hotel and enjoy the English tea with my bestie Eve!!! Now I think I can come up with a decent party too after attending one! :)
And just this week, I made chocolate chip brownies too cause my darling hubby says he wanted to eat some cookies! The batter...
And here it comes out from the oven! Over baked haha... I think I left it in and did not check it... Oops. Still taste yummy, just a little crunchy on the sides... goes extremely well with a nice glass of cold milk!
Alright! Hubby is back! Time to go for lunch, me and Caleb are super hungry!
