Unhurriedly, my thoughts float back to the day we first met you. Under the blistering summer heat, antsy yet eager, with beads of perspiration running down our spines, the man in a shirt and tie presented you to us.
There you were poised stoic and dignified, reflecting the magnificent rays of sun. Backoning for us, drawing us towards your alluring sea of blue and green.
He gazed over at me with a look of question in his eyes, inquring and charged. Conscious with excitement, I return with a nod. The enthusiastic man in shirt and tie then handed to us a decipher, a decipher for us to uncode you.
Unfolding and unravelling your mystery, we fell in love, we claim you from your sanctuary, in hope of a better life and we did.
Now you lay in your cloistered protected block, waiting.
I hear you whimper and that folorn screech against the cold concrete surface. My heart skipped a beat, my pupils dilated, my brained frozed.
I sauntered down slowly, willing myself to think and I saw the battle wounds on your once charming body. I felt a lump slowly rising up the length of my throat, a sniffle maybe as my heart remembers to inflate my body.
Please forgive me my dear Volkywaggy. Remembering the days of laughter and comfort you brought to us. Never once unmindful of your destiny, fulfilling the reasons you were brought to this cruel, painful world. Braving winds, rocks and pesky insects on the roads.
The many miles we've journeyed together, up the canyons and through winding roads. The many songs we shared, the comfort you provided with your spacious and gracious arms.
Thank you my dear Volkywaggy for being such a patient soul. Bless you and I hope that the hair-raising ordeal we've been through will be erased from your memory. Meanwhile, we will make you whole and beautiful again.
