What else but BAKING!
Wednesday, September 24, 2008
Baking school is fun fun fun... Especially when you are back at home and you understand and process the techniques you learn in school!
And so I decided to make Pizza for dinner tonight! :) Without my dream kitchen aid, how will I fare?! Oh man my hands ache light crazy after working with the gluten strength!
From these simple ingredients
The dough before fermentation
After fermentation more than double the size, coz I fell asleep while waiting
Divided into 4 doughs so that we can have 4 pizzas!
Putting on the toppings and
Finally baked and ready into your mouth! The cheese a bit chao tar haha coz I wasn't looking!!!
I also made Ah Lei's Alfredo Linguine for dinner to go with the pizza too! It's yummy la... You guys must try the recipe out ya! It's on our recipes blog!
Its tough! I could have easily purchase a pizza from a pizza house, a frozen one from the supermarket or even a readily available dough but making it from scartch and seeing it "grow" its definitely fun and satisfying! But I think I shall wait till I'm back in SG and when my darling hubby buys me a promised kitchen aid, shall I attempt to make bread again... Unless someone is willing to knead that dough out for me! :) Anyway I still think the one we made in school is yummy! I can't seem to roll it out thin enough... I need to ask my TEACHER why!
And for Sarah's english tea party this Friday, I decide to make a Peach Sour Cream Pie which I learnt in school yesterday...I love it, very nice and a great desert! I've make the dough today though! Just the cream on Thurs and we can have it on Friday! Yeah!
Last Thurs and yesterday was all about pies pies pies! We are proceeding on to cakes this coming Thursday yeah! I'm so addicted to baking, I tried to sign myself up for the classical desert class but alas, its full! I am on waiting list :( I hope someone drops out soon....
Here are some pictures...
Chocolate cream pie, The pie with the chocolate cream sauce... before it goes into the oven...
My partner Kyla bagging out the whip cream.
The whip cream on top of the top! How sinful!
Our finished product... So pretty!
Served with chocolate sauce I think probably need to run about 2.4km after finishing the entire piece of pie!
How about Apple Pie!
With yummy vanilla ice cream top with chocolate syrup!
Peach sour cream Pie
Added streussel topping
And after oven baked! This is what I am intending to make for Sarah's party this Fiday!
And this cherry pie is a shared project made by my teacher and us! Nice hor!
Ok lah, enough pictures of my craze from baking school and baking! Anyway only 3 more weeks or so... hang tight people on my "nothing but baking updates!"
Here's a picture to end the post! Frosty and his new bed! Daddy J could not resist buying it for him from Walmart!
So cute hor, he is so tiny in his big big pillow bed! Shall try and post about the Annie Apple Orchard trip soon... Have posted the pictures on multiply but lazy to upload the pics hehe.... Ciao.
