Memorial Day Long WEEKEND!!!

It's the long weekend! We couldn't go to Grand Canyon though coz J had to ask for permission from his CO if we are going... :( So we skipped it and plan for another time... But it had been a rather relaxing memorial day long weekend!!! Swimming, Gym, finishing the pieces for the chest of drawers! PLUS sale at Jo-Ann Arts and Craft... SO CHEAPPPPPPPPPPPP... Got loads of stuff for scrap booking... the toolset which I got in SIngapore for 79 dollars plus... cost only $14USD here... Faintz lor... Happy Girl me... Anyway here are some of the movies we caught over the weekend! :)
Movies Review 1) Shrek The 3rd [Synopsis from Yahoo Movies] Being king isn't for everyone--especially if you're a prickly ogre who smells like the shallow end of a swamp. When Shrek married Fiona, the last thing he wanted was to rule Far Far Away, but when his frogger-in-law, King Harold, suddenly croaks, Shrek is quickly fitted for the crown. Now, unless the reluctant would-be king can find a suitable replacement, he'll be royally screwed for the rest of his days. As if Shrek didn't have enough on his plate, Princess Fiona has another little surprise on the way. With his head spinning and his belly in knots, Shrek sets off on a quest to find the only other possible heir to the throne, Fiona's long-lost cousin Artie, an underachieving medieval high schooler. While the ogre is away, his old nemesis Prince Charming rears his handsome head and returns to the kingdom of Far Far Away with redemption on his shallow little mind. Even with Donkey and the ever-so-suave Puss in Boots by their side, it's going to take an ogre-sized effort--and a whole lot of help from Fiona and her band of princesses--for Shrek and Artie to save the day and find their own "Happily Ever After."
Jason's r/v :: 2.5/5 popcornies (Predictable, the rest of the characters other than Shrek are funny, able to see more of Puss In Boots...) Ophe's r/v :: 3/5 popcornies (Shrek 2 more funny coz all the fairy tale characters were introduced, creativity... Shrek the Third, love Antonio Bandaras characrter... he is good as the voice of Puss In Boots, Poor Rapunzal was evil though... how to spell her name?)
2) Pirates of the Carribean: At World's End It is a dark time as the Age of Piracy nears to a close. Lord Cutler Beckett of the East India Company has gained control of the terrifying ghost ship, the Flying Dutchman, and its malevolent, vengeful captain, Davy Jones (Bill Nighy). The Dutchman now roams the seven seas, unstoppable, destroying pirate ships without mercy under the command of Admiral Norrington. Will Turner (Orlando Bloom), Elizabeth Swann (Keira Knightley) and Captain Barbossa (Geoffrey Rush) embark on a desperate quest to gather the Nine Lords of the Brethren Court, their only hope to defeat Beckett, the Flying Dutchman, and his Armada. But one of the Lords is missing -- Captain Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp), either the best or worst pirate ever, and now trapped in Davy Jones' Locker, thanks to his encounter with the monstrous Kraken. In an increasingly shaky alliance, our heroes, including Tia Dalma (Naomie Harris), Pintel and Ragetti, must first travel to dangerous, exotic Singapore and confront Chinese pirate Captain Sao Feng (Chow Yun-Fat) to gain charts, and a ship, that will take them off to world's end, to rescue Jack. But even if Captain Jack is successfully rescued, the gathering of the legendary Brethren Court may not be enough to hold back the fearsome tide of Beckett, Davy Jones and their powerful Armada...unless the capricious sea goddess Calypso, imprisoned in human form, can be freed and convinced to come to their aid. As betrayal piles upon betrayal, it becomes clear that Jack, Will, Elizabeth, Sao Feng and Barbossa each have their own agenda, and no one can be trusted. Yet each much choose a side, and make their final alliances for one last battle, in a titanic showdown that could eliminate the freedom-loving pirates from the seven seas -- forever.
Jason's r/v :: 2.5/5 popcornies (Dun understand more than half the time what the Characters were talking about.) Ophe's r/v :: 2.5/5 popcornies (Same as Jason- Almost fell asleep... doesn't help the cineamas' super smelly!!!)
